Interview with our recruiter: Why Moxymind is a place you’ll want to work

Zuzana is part of Moxymind’s recruitment team, but her journey started more than nine years ago in London. Back then, she worked for an agency that staffed large-scale events – her first real taste of the recruiting world.

Over time, she realized the corporate environment wasn’t where she wanted to be. Instead, she was drawn to the fast-paced world of startups and technology. She joined Moxymind as an external recruiter, and never left. Today, she’s on the lookout for top IT talent, and in this conversation, she shares why Moxymind could be the place where your career truly takes off.

How would you describe Moxymind’s company culture to a candidate?

For us, it all starts with humanity. In the tech world, that might sound unusual, but it’s our foundation. In interviews, we’re transparent, we don’t wrap roles in shiny packaging, we just tell it like it is. Our second pillar is a hunger for growth and learning. We’re moving forward together, and we’re looking for people who want the same.

What does your hiring process look like?

We start with an initial chat with a recruiter to see if there’s a basic fit. Then comes the technical interview, which is more of a peer-to-peer conversation than a test. After that, we give feedback, always, no matter the result.

We work with a portfolio of clients, match people to projects, connect them with teams, and finish the process with the final decision on collaboration.

What’s your favorite part of recruitment?

I love it when everything clicks, when a role finds the right person, and the person finds the right role. Recruitment is all about people, their stories, and the direction their lives take. For me, it’s a calling. Nothing beats finding someone with the right skills and seeing them grow and thrive in the role over time.

Anything candidates should prepare for?

Not really – we like to keep it open and transparent. The only thing I’d say is: even if you don’t have every skill right away, we’re open to discussing growth opportunities. What matters most is your willingness to learn.

Any “red flags” you look out for?

For me, the most important thing is how someone thinks and reacts. I try to put candidates in situations that show their teamwork, strengths, and approach. I don’t use trick questions – people can rehearse for those. I’m looking for authentic reactions.

How do you know if someone will fit into the team?

First, they need to fit our company culture and Moxymind comes first. Then we look at project fit. We really value open communication, being able to reach out to colleagues, and trusting our support system.

For me, it’s two main things. First, the amazing community – a group of people who genuinely enjoy what they do. Second, the support system for every consultant, which includes dedicated people lead to help you grow and feel supported at work.

What’s the most common mistake candidates make?

Either underestimating or overestimating themselves. The sweet spot is balance and authenticity. If you don’t know something, say so, but show you’re willing to learn. Interviews are a two-way street; you’re also deciding if the company is right for you.

Any advice for women in IT?

Believe in yourself. Walk into any room knowing you have something to offer. You don’t need to tick every single box in the job description, and you should never be afraid to ask for fair pay.

What would you say to someone thinking about applying?

We do great things here. Few companies give you space for self-realization and have a community like ours. If you want to create, grow, and be part of something bigger, this is the right place for you.
